Our standard press brake tools do a great job fulfilling the requirements of the vast majority of the applications we encounter, yet we also get several requests every day for solutions to applications that require modified standard tools or custom tools.Often times we just need to modify the angle of a standard punch or die a few degrees. That’s easy because the 3mm – 4mm (.118” – .157”) depth of our induction hardening allows us to remove material (within strictly defined limits) to modify an angle or change a radius without jeopardizing the structural integrity of the tool.

Sometimes a standard punch will need to have a window or a relief pocket cut to provide clearance so the part does not collide with the punch while forming. It’s important to note that, here at Mate we modify press brake tools every day and we know what will work safely and what won’t.
