What You Missed If You Missed FABTECH

A few weeks back approximately 10 of my colleagues and I traveled to Atlanta for FABTECH to spotlight our complete line of sheet metal fabrication solutions and see what’s trending in the world of metal forming. We wanted to share our experience with readers who weren’t able to make it to Atlanta this year.

As you’re probably aware, FABTECH is the North American show for everything that’s happening in world of sheet metal fabrication. Our initial impression was that attendance was up compared to past years, which was confirmed when FABTECH announced that nearly 31,000 people from more than 70 countries roamed the show floor. This is great news for the metal fabrication industry and bodes well for the strength of the manufacturing sector.

At the Mate booth we continued to showcase or new line of press brake tooling, which generated a lot of interest from visitors. Many appreciated that not only can Mate be their sole resource for punch press, press brake and laser consumables in North America but they can work with their same sales engineer.

Expertise in Action

The expertise of our sales engineers and technical staff, with an emphasis on forming solutions, was also a main topic of conversation. We had samples on display which showcased the unique ways our tools can punch, bend and cut metal. Our sales engineers and technical staff used these samples during lengthy conversations on how to expand the operations of their punch press and reduce secondary operations. They also provided additional tips and recommendations to get more out of a punch press in general.

Online Store Coming Soon

Finally, FABTECH presented an opportunity to preview our new online store for laser consumables, which we expect to be available beginning in January 2015. The online store will provide customers the ability to fulfill their laser consumables needs online at their convenience. If you’d like to learn more about the online store, please contact laser product specialist, Cindy Hallas.

Next year’s FABTECH returns to McCormick Place in Chicago from November 9-12. We hope to see you there.
