Mate Precision Technologies was founded in 1962 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as the Mate Punch and Die Co. We started as a specialist in the design, manufacture and marketing of punch press tooling. Initially, we operated only locally but saw the need for a national punch press tooling specialist. In 1967, Mate began increasing our presence across the United States. As our success continued, we expanded internationally, starting with operations in England and Germany.<\/p>\n
During this time, we also expanded our product line well beyond punches and dies, including the development of other tooling styles and the punch press multi-tool. To better describe Mate and our product lines to the market, we changed our name to Mate Precision Tooling in 1996. As Mate continued to grow, we began looking ahead for new ways to serve our customers. We changed our name to Mate Precision Technologies in 2020 to reflect our broader commitment to metal cutting and using our expertise to drive innovations to shape the future of factory productivity. In 2021, we entered the metalworking industry with the launch of our 52\/96 zero point workholding system.<\/p>\n

| 1986<\/td>\n | Develops Marathon\u00ae, an advanced tooling system for Murata Wiedemann punch presses.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n |
| 1990<\/td>\n | Opens Western Europe sales office.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n |
| 1991<\/td>\n | Expands to over 100,000 square feet, eight times the original size of the Ramsey location.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n |
