Shipping – Etcher


SUMMARY

Laser, chemical, electric pen etch, label, sort, scan, move tools and information within the shipping department. And perform any other duties that are assigned. Workers may use bar code readers, computer and software applications or other electronic or motorized devises.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position.

Count, sort and verify item received into the area.

Examine items to verify conformance to specifications.

Laser, chemical, electric pen etch identifying codes, figures or letters on tools.  Print label as required for all items that are not etched.

Make adjustments, preventative maintenance machines and equipment when required.

Move or transport materials/information or supplies through area and other departments.

Maintain a clean working environment.

Verify etch identifying codes, figures or letters on tools.

Stamp; mark chit to identify operator and processing move.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Do to workload fluctuations cross training will be required.

Demagnetizing, sorting and shelving of parts

Conduct, communicate and represent themselves in the most honest, ethical, respectful, loyal and trustworthy behavior toward Mate Precision tooling employees.

Display and deliver a positive attitude and respect toward other employees of Mate Precision Tooling.

Display a team attitude and quality work ethics.

Abide by policies, procedures and guidelines stated in the MATE Precision Tooling Handbook.

Will abide by the performance measurements, expectations established by the shipping manager.

Responsible in assisting any job related training and development.

And all other duties assigned by the shipping manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general or general education degree (GED); or one to two related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups of employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
