Special Tooling with Inserts and Counterholder


Typical Application

Material thickness up to 0.118(3.00MM). Sheet metal typically includes a compound form with vertical side wall angles, and where additional force is required to flatten the surrounding material.

Tool Operation

The punch and die mimic the form required in the sheet metal. The material is trapped between the punch and die to coin the required form. The adjustable inserts flatten the surrounding material. The spring loaded counterholder ejects the formed sheet metal from the die. The precise geometry of the component s is developed during the design phase, and may include pre-production testing.
