Mate Enumerator™ Sequential Numbering Tool

Mate's patented* Enumerator™ Sequential Numbering tool allows thick turret punch press users to stamp individual components with a unique and sequential number of up to six digits long. Users can offer their customers the added value of sequential numbering for a variety of uses, including batch traceability. Incorporating sequential serial numbering capabilities will enable users to deliver added value to their products in a way that was previously impossible.

The Mate Enumerator is fully self-contained, and requires no additional software or machine code. It is suitable for use in any thick turret punch press with a 3-1/2” D station.

The Mate Enumerator is a thick turret 3-1/2” D station special assembly with integral punch holder. At the core of the assembly is a robust spring-loaded stamping head with six numerical stamp wheels. Each wheel features the numbers from 0 to 9 engraved around the circumference. The spring loaded advancing arm of the stamping head engages with a rocker arm with in the Enumerator to increment the stamping head one number at a time, from 000000 to 999999.

The Mate Enumerator operates in two modes:

• Sequential Number Mode: Use this mode to create sequential numbers. The Enumerator will advance by one number for each complete stroke the tool makes. The operator can set the starting number and the depth of penetration.

• Fixed Number Mode: Use this mode to create fixed numbers, such as a date or a batch number or a part number. This mode is activated by disengaging the rocker arm. The operator can set the desired number and the depth of penetration.

The standard configuration of the Mate Enumerator includes six numeral wheels, with a character height of 0.118(3.00). However, non-standard configurations are also available, including: 6x0.098(2.50), 6x0.078(2.00), and 6x0.059(1.50). The integral 3-1/2" D station punch holder includes four external keyways to allow the assembly to be oriented at 0, 90, 180, or 270 degrees for maximum versatility.
The external length adjustment mechanism allows the Mate Enumerator to be used on material thickness from 0.020(0.50) to 0.250(6.35). The depth of penetration can be adjusted in 0.002(0.05) increments to precise control of the appearance of the finished component. The Mate Enumerator is fully self-contained, and requires no additional software or machine code. It is suitable for use in any thick turret punch press with a 3-1/2" D station.
